ABOUT US
Westminster is more than just a place of worship; it's a living testament to a legacy of justice, leadership, and faith. Westminster has a rich legacy of influence and leadership, serving as the first spiritual home for several notable figures. To name just a few, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, who served as the first Black female United States Secretary of State and Attorney Carole Catlin Smitherman, Birmingham's first African American female mayor and the first African American in Alabama to serve as a Circuit Court Judge, both began their spiritual journeys at Westminster.
OUR VISION
A history of Westminster Presbyterian Church could not be written without a brief history about the person who first figured in the “mission” of the origin of our church.

OUR HISTORY
In 1944, the Central Alabama Presbytery recognized the Mission as an official church, appointing Rev. John Wesley Rice, Sr. as the first pastor.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Westminster Presbyterian Church exists to glorify GOD, help the community, and to bring people to Christ.
